For nearly fifty years, the Garth Homer Society (GHS) has been supporting adults with developmental disabilities to make “a life, a home, and a place in the world.” GHS does this through their Community Inclusion day programs, where participants engage in community and volunteer placements throughout the CRD; through their Employment and Learning programs that provide meaningful post-secondary development and gainful employment with local businesses; and, through their Geriatrics programs that provide meaningful engagement in community for aging individuals and specialized dementia support. GHS is a charitable nonprofit that supports over 240 adults with developmental disabilities and their families. The Garth Homer Centre, located at 813 Darwin Avenue, has been an important community hub since its construction in 1977.

The Victoria Brain Injury Society (VBIS) is a vital resource for individuals and families affected by brain injury in Greater Victoria. As the only local organization dedicated specifically to brain injury support, VBIS provides immediate access to services with no waitlist – ensuring survivors get the help they need when they need it. VBIS offers a range of programs, from case management and peer support to innovative education and housing advocacy. Through strong community partnerships and tireless advocacy, we are raising awareness, advancing rehabilitation, and helping survivors rebuild their lives. By working closely with healthcare providers, researchers, and volunteers, VBIS is making a lasting difference for people living with brain injuries and strengthening the broader community as a whole.

2025 Awards Ceremony

Join us for an evening of celebration at the 2025 Business Awards Ceremony. The event provides an opportunity to learn more about the fantastic businesses contributing to the vibrancy of our community and celebrate the finalists for their achievements. The evening includes a general reception for all guests with light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar, the awards ceremony taking place in the Victoria Conference Centre Theatre, and a post-ceremony celebration where we can congratulate and network with all of the finalists and award recipients. This will be a spectacular night of networking, entertainment and celebration honouring our finalists and all Chamber members efforts towards building good business and great community for all.
