Belfry Theatre is closing out its 50th Anniversary Season with a special celebration honouring five decades of theatre, music, storytelling, and community connection.
On Saturday, May 30, the Belfry will present Some Kinda Fun – an evening billed as “Shy on Speeches, High on Music” featuring songs from some of the musicals staged throughout the theatre’s 50-year history. Created by Michael Shamata and Tobin Stokes, the performance will bring together acclaimed performers Brent Jarvis, Chelsea Rose Winsby, Stephanie Roth, and Jonathan Winsby for a musical journey spanning artists from Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen to Patsy Cline and Gordon Lightfoot.
The celebration takes place on the Belfry’s Patrick Stewart Mainstage and will be followed by a post-show afterparty in the Carpentry Shop and BMO Studio, complete with live music, refreshments, and an opportunity for guests to reconnect and reflect on the theatre’s legacy.
Tickets for Some Kinda Fun are $50, with guests also invited to add a donation at checkout to support the future of the theatre and its programming.
