Guy Fiset, CPA and founder of Fiset Strategic Finance Inc. (FSF), has been appointed Treasurer of the Greater Victoria Volunteer Society, known as Volunteer Victoria. Guy steps into the role for a two-year term running through 2028, taking over from the outgoing Treasurer, who recently stepped down after his own term of service.
Volunteer Victoria has served the Greater Victoria region since 1974, connecting volunteers with the charitable and government-assisted social service organizations that rely on them. Its work matching willing volunteers to the groups that need them most makes it a quiet but essential part of the region’s nonprofit and social service sector, supporting organizations across the Capital Regional District.
As Treasurer, Guy Fiset will sit as a voting member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, providing financial oversight to help ensure the organization remains fiscally responsible, transparent, and sustainable. His responsibilities will include reviewing financial statements for the Board, supporting annual budget planning, and ensuring the Society meets its compliance and reporting obligations.
This marks Guy’s first formal role with Volunteer Victoria, though nonprofit board service is not new to him. In a previous chapter of his career in Montreal, he served as a board member of a Centre de la petite enfance (CPE), a nonprofit early childhood daycare centre. That experience gave him firsthand insight into the governance and financial stewardship that keep community-serving nonprofits strong.
Through FSF, Guy works as a Fractional CFO and Controller, helping growing businesses across Canada get more value from the finance function they already have. He is also an active member of VIATEC and BNI BC Elevate, reflecting a broader belief in community and local industry. For Guy, supporting local organizations and businesses is a value he holds close, and one he sees shared widely across Greater Victoria.
