Malahat SkyWalk has officially opened The Overhang, a thrilling new attraction that gives visitors the sensation of floating high above Vancouver Island in Canada’s first enclosed glass cube attached to the top of a spiral tower.
Hovering 250 metres (820 feet) above sea level, The Overhang extends 2.13 metres (7 feet) beyond the edge of Malahat SkyWalk’s award-winning Spiral Tower. The fully transparent glass cube offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, old-growth forests, coastal mountains, and surrounding inlets, creating a one-of-a-kind adventure experience on the West Coast.
Designed for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike, The Overhang combines breathtaking scenery with an adrenaline-filled experience unlike anything else in Canada. The attraction was developed in partnership with BC-based structural engineering firm Aspect and has been built with multiple layers of structural glass and steel supports to ensure guest safety.
As with the entire Malahat SkyWalk experience, The Overhang has been designed to be fully accessible for all visitors.
Located on the traditional territory of the Malahat Nation, Malahat SkyWalk has welcomed more than one million guests since opening in 2021 and continues to be recognized as one of the top visitor attractions near Victoria, BC.
