Know of a Greater Victoria business that deserves some attention? Douglas magazine invites the community to nominate a business for its annual 10 to Watch awards, recognizing promising new businesses across the region.
Now in its 18th year, the 10 to Watch awards celebrate emerging startups in their first three years of business. Nominations can be made by anyone in the community, including the founders themselves.
“The companies we honour through our 10 to Watch program aren’t playing it safe,” says Lise Gyorkos, president and co-publisher of Page One Publishing. “They’re taking risks, solving problems and building the future of business right here on the Island. Nominations are open, and we can’t wait to see who’s next.”
An independent panel of judges will review applications and select 10 winners, who will receive recognition and exposure through Douglas magazine and the broader business community, and be celebrated at the 10 to Watch event in spring 2027.
“The 10 to Watch was the first real award Flytographer received, and as a young startup that public recognition was really meaningful,” says Nicole Smith, CEO and founder of Flytographer, winner of a 10 to Watch award in 2015. “It also helped raise our profile, credibility in Victoria and attract great local talent as we grew our team.”
Nominate a Business
Nominate a Vancouver Island-based startup that has been in business for three years or less, subject to the program’s full eligibility requirements and content rules. Nominations are open now until November 8, 2026.
