Returning for its second year, the unique shopping experience will take place from Tuesday, July 21 to Sunday, July 26 in the lower courtyard at Market Square, bringing together high-quality Lost & Found treasures collected through partnerships with more than 60 hotels across British Columbia and Alberta.
From Chanel eyeglasses and vintage Vancouver Canucks jerseys to wedding dresses and designer accessories, thousands of unclaimed items from top hotels starting from $5 — are finding a second life through Second Hand Hope’s Summer Pop-Up at Market Square.
Operated by Soap for Hope Canada, Second Hand Hope is the only store of its kind in Canada, transforming unclaimed hotel items into funding for programs that help eradicate hygiene poverty.
Every purchase supports Soap for Hope Canada’s mission to provide essential hygiene products to vulnerable individuals and families while keeping valuable items out of the landfill.
In 2025 alone, participating hotels like Delta Hotels Ocean Pointe, The Parkside Hotel, Huntingdon Manor, the Fairmont chain, diverted nearly 10,000 pounds of Lost & Found items through the program, demonstrating how hospitality businesses can turn forgotten belongings into meaningful community impact.
“Most people never stop to think about what happens to the items left behind in hotels,” says C. Anne McIntyre, Founder and Executive Director of Soap for Hope Canada. “This pop-up gives those items a second chance while helping our organization provide hope, health and dignity to people who need it most. It’s a powerful example of how sustainability and social impact can work hand in hand.”
