The Greater Victoria Chamber acknowledges that our members, live, play and do business on the Traditional Territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples. It recognizes the First Nations governments across this region — Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees) and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) Nations in the core area, the W̱SÁNEĆ Nations {W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum)} out on the Saanich Peninsula and Gulf Islands, to the west Sc’ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht, and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat) and Pune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) Nations.

The Greater Victoria Chamber was one of the first chambers in Canada to not only acknowledge our historic role in the suppression of the Indigenous economy but to begin work on better ways to strengthen our ties with local Indigenous leaders and the indigenous businesses in our region.

If you’re an Indigenous business looking to grow your business we invite you to take part in our Indigenous Economic Reconciliation Program. Please email us.

We are proud partners and supporters of the South Island Indigenous Business Directory for procurement projects and have been sponsors of the South Island Powwow since it launched.

We invite you to connect with First Nations, Indigenous businesses and leaders in The Chamber. We are wiser and stronger when we respect, connect and work together to create meaningful change.
