The Greater Victoria Chamber acknowledges that our members, live, play and do business on the Traditional Territory of the Lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples. It recognizes the First Nations governments across this region — Lək̓ʷəŋən (Songhees) and Xwsepsum (Esquimalt) Nations in the core area, the W̱SÁNEĆ Nations {W̱JOȽEȽP (Tsartlip), BOḰEĆEN (Pauquachin), SȾÁUTW̱,(Tsawout) W̱SIKEM (Tseycum)} out on the Saanich Peninsula and Gulf Islands, to the west Sc’ianew (Beecher Bay), T’Sou-ke, and Pacheedaht, and MÁLEXEȽ (Malahat) and Pune’laxutth’ (Penelekut) Nations.

The Indigenous First Nations in this region have a proud tradition of trading and doing business in this region.  As a the regional Chamber, we are proud to work with the community to connect and grow opportunities for Indigenous owners and the outstanding businesses that they have built.

If you’re an Indigenous-owned business looking to grow, we invite you to take part in our Indigenous Economic Reconciliation Program. Please email us.

We are proud partners and supporters of the South Island Indigenous Business Directory.  This directory provides a broad list of Indigenous-owned businesses across the South Island connecting them with each other and procurement projects.  The Chamber works with partners to hold annual mixers focused on Indigenous entrepreneurs, seminars that foster respectful, impactful relations and sponsorship of great First Nation events like the South Island Powwow.

We invite you to connect with First Nations, Indigenous businesses and leaders in The Chamber. We are wiser and stronger when we respect, connect and work together to create meaningful change.
